What is Included in The Funding
If your child takes up a 30-hour funded childcare place, it’s important to understand that this funding only covers the basic hours of childcare. Additional costs, referred to as 'extras' such as meals, snacks, nappies, sun cream, or participation in special activities, are not included.
From 1st April 2025, if your child is enrolled on a funded place, your childcare provider will notify you of any extra charges. You will have the option to pay for these voluntary extras, provide your own supplies, or decline the charges altogether.
Please keep in mind that opting out of paying for extras may affect the provider’s ability to keep offering funded places in the future. We encourage you to discuss any concerns and your options with your childcare provider to ensure you make the best decision for your child's care and your family's needs.
